Reacting To Your Videos! // Pointlessblog (Alfie Deyes)
Summary: Alfie (aka pointlessblog) does a question and answer video where he was sent questions in video form.
What does he get asked? Is something you want to know answered? Watch the video above to find out.
Enjoyability: This was a fun little video where you got to know a little bit more about Alfie and it was a creative way for him to interact with his fans. I found it to be slightly dull at times and Alfie didn't seem to have much energy in this video. Also the questions asked weren't that exciting and they were the same kind of thing that gets asked every Q and A. In addition quite a bit of the video was spent where he wasn't actually answering questions which kind of defeats the purpose. However the fact that it was more inclusive as you could see the fan's faces made it more interesting and I'm sure those featured in the video were ecstatic to be doing so.
Comparison to other videos: Alfie has done quite a few question and answer videos on his channel and I think this was one of the best because it was slightly different. I think a few other youtubers have done Q and A s like this though or in a more creative manner than the usual and this takes away from his video. On the whole I don't think this is one of the best videos on his channel which nowadays mostly consists of challenges and video ideas that have been done a lot on YouTube as he doesn't seem to have the same level of energy he once did and this wasn't creative enough to beat some of his earlier videos.
Originality: Question and answer videos are a stable of the YouTube community and almost every youtuber there is has done one. Some of the time they seem to do this when they have no other video ideas as this is a fan favourite. However Alfie's use of video questions does make it stand out in a sea of these types of videos because most of the time these questions are taken from Twitter, Instagram or Ask Fm etc. and it's a nice touch to be able to see the people who asked the questions. But this is not a totally original concept and he is slightly adapting something that has been done many, many, many, many times before.
Overall: This was an okay video as there wasn't anything spectacular about it, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't brilliant either. Alfie did put a little twist on a staple of YouTube but this is not enough to make this video above average so it gets a 5/10.
