How To Be a YouTube Star (ft. The Rock)

Summary: Lilly Singh uses her awesome YouTube knowledge to teach newbie The Rock how to become a YouTube sensation.

When this video first popped up in my subscription box I was slightly confused but intrigued. I had read somewhere, on Buzzfeed I think, about The Rock having a YouTube channel now so it would only be a natural progression for him to feature in his friend iisuperwomanii 's video. What was surprising to me is that the video had only been up for half an hour when I watched it but it somehow had a whopping 250,000+ views ALREADY! Which really just shows the power of YouTube and traditional media stars coming together.

The video itself was very tongue in cheek and showcased both Lilly and The Rock's acting abilities. They both played fictionalised or exaggerated versions of themselves with Lilly's not so secret lust for The Rock being a running gag throughout. I was impressed with how The Rock seemed to fit into the YouTube video like any other Youtuber would rather than as a A list actor trying to appear in a YouTube video to get people to see their new film. They always seem slightly uncomfortable as they are out of depth and don't seem to loosen up enough as necessary to have a good YouTube video. However you can tell he has definitely done his homework and it shows, who knows he may just be a next top Youtuber.

As usual Lilly was on point and her friendship with The Rock allowed their on screen chemistry to shine, I would suggest that it shines off screen as well but unfortunately The Rock has a stunning girlfriend already. I guess we just have to ship them in our hearts...
Following on this video was just part 1 of two videos, the latter one featuring on The Rock's very own YouTube channel. I thought the premise of this video was a rather amusing and a unique way to introduce The Rock to the YouTube community and I have high hopes that his video is just as entertaining if not better.

Overall this was a fun video to watch and was like a clash of two worlds that just worked really well,  for simply having The Rock in her video I had to add two points to what was already a top notch video so this gets a 9/10.
