LETS TALK ABOUT SEX..

Image
Summary: ThatcherJoe and friends turn the heat up and play the voting game This video was slightly reminiscence of the Never Have I Ever challenge with the youtubers asking each other revealing questions for our entertainment. I have to say I haven't watched a thatcherjoe video in awhile, although I am still subscribed to him, as none of his videos of recent have appealed to me. They all seem to be the same video with a little variation, a prime example is his 75 accents in 5 minutes video. We all know Joe can do accents but it seems like he's milking it a little now, I'm sure he has 20 thousand videos doing accents now. Anyway this video stood out to me because of the title which I honestly thought was just click bait. I was surprised that he was doing a video that was not PG to appeal to his tween fangirls and me being on the older side of  teenagehood (I'm 17) I was interested to see him step outside of his cookie cutter image. This video was definitely enter...

CRAZY BIG BUBBLE BATH

Image
Summary: To celebrate their 5 year anniversary the Janoskians decide to fill their pool up with bubble bath soap. This video is classic Janoskians, something so random and stupidly simple that it veers on the edge of boring and entertaining. More than not it is on the entertaining side though. It's funny to say that I watched a whole 7 minute video of grown men jumping off of a roof into a bubble filled pool, but despite this I did enjoy it. Though I don't quite know why, maybe it's just something to give my brain a rest or maybe it's the fact that they are shirtless for most of the video that appeals to me. Either way I did enjoy it. If you are expecting complex ideas and stellar production I'd suggest not watching the Janoskians as the premises of their videos are not ever really thought provoking but then again they aren't meant to be. The essence of the Janoskian channel is a group of friends having fun and getting up to mischief. So what if their act...

The YouTube Factory feat. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Lilly Singh, and More!

Image
Summary: Lilly Singh takes The Rock on a tour of the super secret YouTube video creation factory. This video was the second instalment of a video done of Lilly's channel which I have already reviewed so check it out. Anyway I was pleasantly surprised with the video, it had a lot of collaborations from top Youtubers which was probably to help The Rock get to the massive 800k subscribers in only 4 WEEKS! Of course the production quality of the video was top notch because The Rock has the capital to put a lot into his videos. Also from reading the description box there were at least a dozen people on the production team so no wonder they could include all those special effects. In a way this takes away from the video because it's not authentic YouTube, it's just traditional media trying to craft something to fit in the YouTube space. It does work in this video to an extent but it takes away the personal aspect of YouTube which makes it so popular. Hopefully The Rock...

How To Be a YouTube Star (ft. The Rock)

Image
Summary: Lilly Singh uses her awesome YouTube knowledge to teach newbie The Rock how to become a YouTube sensation. When this video first popped up in my subscription box I was slightly confused but intrigued. I had read somewhere, on Buzzfeed I think, about The Rock having a YouTube channel now so it would only be a natural progression for him to feature in his friend iisuperwomanii 's video. What was surprising to me is that the video had only been up for half an hour when I watched it but it somehow had a whopping 250,000+ views ALREADY! Which really just shows the power of YouTube and traditional media stars coming together. The video itself was very tongue in cheek and showcased both Lilly and The Rock's acting abilities. They both played fictionalised or exaggerated versions of themselves with Lilly's not so secret lust for The Rock being a running gag throughout. I was impressed with how The Rock seemed to fit into the YouTube video like any other Youtuber w...

A DISS TRACK AGAINST MYSELF (Roast Yourself Challenge)

Image
Summary: Lilly does a diss track about herself for the Roast yourself challenge This challenge was started by Ryan Higa as a reaction to the so called 'Youtube Drama' that has been occurring recently which I have no clue about. I guess I have been slacking on my duties as a Youtube Fangirl. ;D . Anyway he challenged Superwoman as well as few other youtubers to roast themselves like he did so I guess we have him to thank for this funny video. Lilly becomes her very own hater in this video and talks about some of her flaws like how she can't do her makeup and dresses like a tomboy which makes us realise that just like you and I youtubers are mere mortals who have imperfections too. This was one of the first in what has now become a YouTube trend which I personally I have relished in. If you are a fan of the youtuber making the video then it makes it all that more funny as there are lots of inside jokes and throwbacks in it. I can say this is one trend much like the...
