Review of Tyler Oakley

Hiya welcome to my new series the Youtuber Reviews. Hope you enjoy it!!!

Number of subscribers: 8,096,000

Genre: Lifestyle, Positivity, Comedy, Vlogger etc

My Quality Rating: 4/10

As you can see from the figure above Mr Tyler is quite a popular person on YouTube, having 8 million and counting subscribers on YouTube alone not to add the millions he has on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat the list goes on. You could truly call Tyler the Queen of Internet. But as we all know being popular doesn't necessarily mean good quality. I'm sure we've all noticed our favourite Youtubers make it big then the quality of their videos start to decline leaving us poor fangirls at home crying over their old videos...

One thing I can say about Tyler Oakley is that I used to be a HUGEEE fan of his and the important word in this sentence is used to be. Whether this is because of his video quality declining or what videos I enjoy watching changing as I've gotten older is a mystery to you and me. All I know is that I used to be a total fangirl over Tyler, the type who would watch all his videos, follow him on his social media, take everything he said as gospel so I could defend him to the death in fangirl battles and had some of his Tyler mannerisms somehow make their way into my behaviour. //sidenote- you have no clue how many times I practiced saying yassssssssss so I could say it like Tyler; clearly more times than I'd like to admit ;D//

But somewhere along the line I just stopped watching his videos They just didn't make me laugh anymore and just didn't seem to be as creative as they used to be. It felt as if Tyler was slipping into the big Youtuber curse of doing challenge videos, q and a's, promotions for his other ventures and video ideas that literally every other Youtuber has done a million times before. Not to mention the frequency of his uploads was just getting less and less to the point where you could sometimes go 3 weeks without a video. Now not to be too harsh on old Tyler, he is very busy now, what with his book, tours etc but it feels as if the audience that made him is being neglected a little bit.

However Tyler is just a pure personality which is why I fell for him in the first place and if he could find a way to recreate his old raw personality I would definitely consider subscribing to him again. The problem with a few Youtubers is that they get bigger and so want to produce higher quality videos but sometimes this leads the videos to feel too planned and structured. Anyways I wish Tyler the best of luck in his endeavours especially his charity work for the Trevor Project and helping LGBT youth. It's a good thing he's able to use his platform for some good.
