I Dare You: GETTING TASED! (ft. Timothy Delaghetto & Anna Akana) - NigaHiga



Summary: NigaHiga is back at it again with another I Dare You video featuring the hilarious and talented Timothy Delaghetto and Anna Akana, as well as the usual gang whose names I've now realised I don't actually know. awkward....


This video is a part of a series that NigaHiga has created which shows him and a group of people doing all sorts of crazy dares and challenges (the kind they tell you not to try at home) all to win a coveted spot for their name on the ball of lame. // Side note: the ball of lame is basically a ball of tinfoil that they write their names on// Unfortunately this video didn't stick out as being one of the greatest in the series and it didn't even make me laugh out loud once. Yet it does still do it's best to try to be entertaining.


I'm starting to wonder if the appeal of the series is starting to wear off especially since Youtube is a place where you can see hundreds if not thousands of videos of people humiliating themselves and even putting their lives at risk all for a few laughs. With that kind of competition this video would find it hard to be considered one of the best even for the biggest Ryan Higa fans. The addition of different guests does add a new dimension to the group dynamics, sometimes for the better or worse. I feel like Timothy's brand of humour didn't really get to shine through in this due to him being featured on the PG13 NigaHiga channel. This made him appear a little bland which is a shame because he really could have added some different types of humour to the video.


While I didn't love the video I didn't hate it either. All of Ryan work has the stamp of his originality and creativity all over it. But maybe his unique ideas only work a few times and are not best suited to a continuous series as I feel this limits his creativity. If Ryan can come back and reinvent the I Dare You series like he has done to some previous videos I'm sure it'll make me laugh as much as I used to. Personally I think it deserves a 6/10 or C for effort. I have seen the quality of Ryan's others videos and this just isn't up to par.  Or maybe I'm just being too harsh a Youtube critic :D.
