Movies on a Budget!
Summary: Ryan Higa answers the common fan question of "When are you going to make a feature length film?" By showing us how some of your favourite movies would look if he directed it.
I have to say Ryan may just be the king of making entertainment suitable for most ages without lessening the comedic factor. This was a good video and it was fun to see the bootleg or cheap versions of some popular films like Frozen and Fast and Furious but in ordinary situations. Although this video was meant to highlight how bad these movies would be if he made them with his editing and production skills I'm certain if Ryan did make a feature length film it'd be a lot better than the examples in the video.
This video was different in that it was an ad video to promote his new film but unlike some other ad videos it didn't appear as if he was changing himself or his usual video style. Often you know a YouTuber is doing an ad video because their voice changes and they start using their "serious" voices. For comedy channels you can imagine this takes away from the enjoyability factor. Normally if this happens I don't watch the video because it's too painful but with Ryan the quality was no different from his usual top notch standard.
Honestly I think he and his team are very creative and I love how they can turn a simple or boring concept and make it something super entertaining. He could have done a 30 second video telling his fans to go watch the movie but that doesn't feel authentic and would probably convince me not to watch it. Ryan has mastered knowing his fans and gives out content accordingly, while still enjoying what he does. When either the fans or the creator isn't happy with the work then you can definitely tell but with NigaHiga you can tell both are in sync.
Unlike some other videos this kept my attention the whole time and I wasn't tempted to check my phone or play a game while watching it. As often the jokes are enhanced by the littlest of facial expressions. I have to give this a 7/10 if not simply for being a video I would watch again ( which I rarely do) but mostly because it was entertaining.
Did this video make you laugh out loud (for reals) or was super meh! Have your say in the comments below.
Until next time
