Can They Still Sing? Ella Mai Edition

I first stumbled upon Ella's music one day when I was flicking through YouTube and I have to say the decision to listen was one of my best random music finds. 3 or so mixtapes of hers later and I'm ready for the album to come out. DJ Mustard please tell your girl to hurry up, the fans demand it!

 Anyway I know the question on everyone's lips is has she become a better or worse singer over the years? Well little known fact about Ella Mai she was once on the UK version of xFactor many moons ago in one of those 'look kinda pretty but can't really sing well together and/or alone' type girl groups who got booted off at bootcamp. After the show she left the group and glowed up in a major way- I mean what is her secret because I need this witchcraft level glow up in my life- and her music has blown up in a big way. As she is on a tour with my other favourite girl and random music find Kehlani.

Moving on, from her instagram videos you can really take in the essense of her powerful voice without those killer beats distracting us, and although her singing videos are simple and don't do all the fancy camera work that we are used to seeing this makes it that much better. She definetly has a very soulful and timeless voice which may just give you the goosebumps people are always talking about on those singing competitions.

Ella Mai is still relatively up and coming but she is definetly coming with a vengeance so I would go check her out now. So when she's playing on the radio 24/7 you can boast to your friends that you knew about her before she was popping and that you're a true fan and complain to them about how her latest single is not as good as Track 9 on her second mixtape...

Uni is a unique time when you are surrounded by like minded individuals who all want to make something of their life. So naturally you'll see a lot of people having businesses, being athletes, aspiring singers, models etc and in this midst of so much success it can be disheartening in a way.
